>Named the NL Pitcher of the Week a few hours earlier, Webb entered Friday's matchup at Coors Field with five consecutive strong outings. With the Giants slipping out of playoff contention, Webb's recent surge made him a popular name among acquisition discussions.
>Leading the Rockies to a 15-3 victory, McCarthy helped rewrite Webb's recent scouting reports, becoming the first player in MLB history with a leadoff home run, grand slam and stolen base during the same game.
>Webb (5-6) surrendered three runs in all of June. Against the Rockies, he surrendered seven earned runs on 11 hits in three innings.
