— Complex Sports (@ComplexSports) July 4, 2026SGA led the Oklahoma City Thunder to their first-ever NBA championship. While OKC made it to the Western Conference Finals, they failed to beat the San Antonio Spurs.
>"They were just the better team tonight, from start to finish," Gilgeous-Alexander told reporters following OKC's 111-103 loss in Game 7. "And then every time we tried to cut into it, and take control of the game, I felt like they had an answer. And a lot of times it felt like it was tough shot-making, so hats off to them."
> SGA was named NBA MVP for a second straight year in a row, a feat that only a handful of NBA players have been able to accomplish in their careers.
>While he dubbed last season a "failure," he is working overtime to improve on what the team can do to not repeat mistakes.
> “I didn't get where I wanted to go this season,” he said to reporters last month. “There's a reason for that. Now I have to look at that reason and try to make sure it never happens again.”
