It is understood that Blackburn Rovers are showing interest in recruiting the Republic of Ireland midfield ace from the Black Cats this off-season.

Browne’s Impressive Loan Spell In English FootballBrowne enjoyed a good run of form while on loan at Middlesbrough in the previous campaign when he put in a handful of solid performances for them at the centre of the park. The 31-year-old scored four times and earned three assists in 42 matches for the Boro last season across various competitions.

>The Republic of Ireland talent is currently surplus to requirements at Sunderland and won’t be a regular starter for them next season. Thus, it makes sense for the player to seek a move away from the Premier League club in search of playing time in the future.

>His current contract at the Stadium of Light will expire at the end of next season. Hence, the Black Cats have got no choice but to cash in on him in this transfer window or else risk losing him on a free transfer in 2027.

Should Sunderland Boss Regis Le Bris Cash In Browne?Browne is a good tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and is a good passer as well.

>The Republic of Ireland international is full of energy and running at the centre of the park. Browne is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also fill in as an attacking midfielder or as a holding midfielder if told to do so. However, he will struggle to earn regular first-team football at the Wearside club if he stays with them beyond this summer.
