Syracuse men’s basketball: Francis Folefac commits to Orange

He follows head coach Gerry McNamara from Siena along with teammates Gavin Doty and Tasman Goodrick.

class="has-text-align-none">The 6-foot-7, 245 pound Folefac played forward at Siena this past season. He’s set to join his former Team Melo AAU teammate Kiyan Anthony at Syracuse.

style="background-color: #F4F4F4; height: 14px; width: 144px;">In his opening press conference at Syracuse, McNamara touched on how he’d turn to Folefac in late clock situations at Siena.

class="has-text-align-none">“I had Folefac and [Riley] Mulvey where I had two different guys that I could kind of work through late,” McNamara said. “Folefac — whether it be he could bully a guy and get to 12-feet and create a three-on-two or two-on-one. Or if it’s single coverage go on his own.”

Folefac worked with assistant Arinze Onuaku at Siena. The two share a hometown of Lanham, MD. Folefac is the youngest of seven siblings with six older sisters. He majored in Kinesiology at Siena.

class="has-text-align-none">Folefac started 26 of 35 games at Siena. He averaged 11.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.2 blocks and 0.9 steals per game with shooting splits of 51.5%/37.5%/74.0%.
