Entering play this week, the Longhorns' 2026 campaign was at a crossroads. They had lost two straight conference games and fallen out of the top 10. Against an Ole Miss team ranked seventh in the nation, Steve Sarksians team needed a spark, and running back Raleek Brown delivered his best game as a Longhorn.
>On 23 attempts, Brown rushed for a team-high 157 yards, averaging 6.8 yards per carry. Although he did not find the end zone, the talented senior was the only player with more than 50 rushing yards. Throughout the game, Brown helped set the tone and was almost unstoppable.

— Underdog CFB (@UnderdogCFB) October 25, 2026With his latest masterpiece in the books, Brown now has 422 rushing yards this season. That is the most on the team, with Hollywood Smothers second at 289. He is also averaging five yards per carry, the fourth-highest total of his college career. Regardless of the opponent, Brown has made an impact and shown why he was one of the most highly ranked players in the transfer portal over the offseason.
>While there were a lot of positives to take from the Longhorns' win on Saturday, Brown's play was one of the biggest. He showed that he could handle a feature role and made great decisions while breaking tackle after tackle. Along with Michael Terry III, Texas controlled the tempo and got a much-needed conference win.

— Cory Mose (@Cory_Mose) October 25, 2026As the playoffs inch closer, Brown will be relied on heavily. He helps take pressure off quarterback Arch Manning, and at his best, the Longhorns offense is hard to plan against. Those traits will be key for a team chasing a national title.
>The Longhorns still have some ground to make up, but Brown kept their playoff hopes alive for another week.
