Twitter Gold: Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje On Choosing Duke

Here’s a small section of a presumably longer interview with incoming Blue Devil freshman Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje, where he talks about why he decided to go to college, rather than playing a year at an American high school, why he chose Duke, and a bit more.

class="has-text-align-none">As it turns out, the Boumtje Boumtjes discussed the potential of starting college this fall, and spoke to a handful of coaches. Boumtje Boumtje says what sold him on Duke was Jon Scheyer and his burgeoning bragging rights about developing talent for the NBA.

class="has-text-align-none">There’s a great story here also about how Boumtje Boumtje, having made up his mind what he wants to do, told Scheyer. We’ll let you watch and enjoy it, but if you haven’t seen this or don’t know the story, it’s pretty cool.

class="has-text-align-none">One of the appealing things about young Boumtje Boumtje is that he seems to be genuinely humble. That could translate into taking some time to emerge, a la Grant Hill, but like with Hill, it looks like that would be worth the wait.
