'Villain is here to stay.' Suns, Dillon Brooks agree to $73M extension

Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks has signed a three-year, $73-million extension, The Arizona Republic confirmed August 5.

>"Villain is here to stay," Brooks told The Republic. "Championship is all on my mind."

>ESPN's Shams Charania first reported the news August 5, as the extension runs through the 2029-30 season.

>Brooks averaged a career-high 20.2 points a game in his first year with the Suns, who acquired him from the Houston Rockets in the Kevin Durant trade.

>The Suns finished 45-37 last season and returned to the postseason after missing the playoffs last season with Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, who they bought out.
