>A.J. Brown made a name for himself in Philadelphia as a diva wide receiver. He finished with at least one thousand yards in every season, was selected to the All-Pro team three times, and hoisted the Lombardi Trophy. But through it all, he will always be remembered for the off-the-field drama that plagues his Eagles teams.

>Last week, reporters and aggregators tried to capitalize on his reputation by spreading a false story about the receiver.

>Brown did an interview with Maria Taylor. Taylor asked Brown if he felt like he was made out to be the villain in Philadelphia. Brown said this in return.

>"I wouldn’t say ‘a villain,’ because some of the things that was done, it was done purposely to give us a push, you know?" Brown said. “I know if I said something in the media, I know it’s gonna propel us to work on it, because now everybody’s talking about it. You know, so it’s like are we gonna really — are we gonna fix it or not? We can’t keep saying, ‘It’s the standard, it’s the standard.’ And we’re not trying to truly get better."

>Reporters far and wide heard (or likely didn't even bother to listen) this and headlined stories accusing Brown of "leaking" stories to the media.

>Not once did Brown say he did that. He simply told Taylor that he knew if he pointed out a flaw in the team's game at the podium, then there would be more pressure on the team and the locker room to fix that problem and become a better football team.

>How you feel about him doing that is up to you, but it's disappointing to see outlets like ESPN running a false story that is so easily debunked.
