Watch: Brandon Aiyuk Has Arrest Warrant Issued After Posting Video Breaking The Law (Breaking News)

San Francisco 49ers star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has had an arrest warrant issued in his name on Wednesday.  The news has gone viral across the league and caught many fans off-guard.  The warrant was issued in response to a video that Aiyuk posted to the internet.

>Sean Webby, a spokesman for the district attorney’s office, confirmed Wednesday that the warrant was issued in response to a video Aiyuk posted to social media last December that appeared to show him speeding in front of Levi’s Stadium.

It was the California Post that first reported the arrest warrant.  Aiyuk apologized a few days after he appeared to drive over 100. mph, well over the posted speed limit of 40 mph.

“Sorry ya’ll, my car content won’t come with speeding anymore,” Aiyuk wrote in a social media post. “Was praying with my son tonight and wouldn’t want anybody else to miss out on an opportunity to do the same with their loved ones! My apologies.”

>This is far from the first “issue” that the 49ers have been dealt when it comes to the veteran wide receiver. According to reports, the 49ers and Aiyuk have been at odds since last summer when the team voided the $27 million guaranteed in Aiyuk’s contract for next season. This was because he failed to attend meetings and other team activities.

>The 49ers’ general manager, John Lynch, has stated that he does not anticipate Aiyuk playing again for the team. Currently, the team is waiting to see whether another team will be willing to trade for Aiyuk. Otherwise, the 49ers could either cut him or keep him on the reserve list.

There are three years remaining on Aiyuk’s four-year, $120 million extension signed last year. In spite of this, he no longer has any guaranteed money reamining.

>Since being drafted in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft, the 28-year-old Aiyuk has caught 294 passes for 4,305 yards and 25 touchdowns.
