New England Patriots rookie first-round draft pick Caleb Lomu worked with the starting offensive line unit at Tuesday's mandatory minicamp practice. He took reps at right tackle with the starters, in place of veteran Morgan Moses, who did not practice.
>However, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss, he also took reps at left tackle with the second-team unit.
>Lomu has experience playing both sides in college, and there is legitimate swing tackle appeal for him in the NFL. He could simply serve as a depth option, or the team could look to start him at either tackle position. Depending on how he performs in training camp, every option could be on the table.

Rookie report: First-round pick Caleb Lomu worked at right tackle with the top unit (no practice for veteran Morgan Moses) and also took reps as the second-unit left tackle.
A reflection of Lomu projected to be the top swing tackle.
— Mike Reiss (@MikeReiss) June 9, 2026The Patriots are currently laying the foundation for training camp. It won't be until late July before the team sees what Lomu really has to offer in the trenches. That's when the pads will come on, and the overall intensity at practice will pick up significantly.
