Texas volleyball dropped a bit in Monday's American Volleyball Coaches Association rankings.
>The Longhorns (5-5, 1-1) fell to eighth in the country after splitting their opening weekend in SEC play. Texas, then ranked No. 9, pulled off the reverse sweep Friday night against No. 13 Tennessee but it couldn't keep the momentum going and got swept Sunday by No. 3 Kentucky.

The Utes upset previously ranked No. 21 Colorado in its conference opener with a sweep and the Buffaloes fell to No. 24 in Monday's poll.
