Jaxson Dart is the face of the New York Giants, but in the event that the franchise wanted to trade him, what value does he carry in the open market?

>ESPN’s Bill Barnwell appraised Dart as being worth a future first-round pick in his assessment of players who could command first-round selections in the NFL and how many assets they might deserve from potential suitors.

Jaxson DartDart showed enough as a rookie to stay on the first-round track after being selected with the 25th pick a year ago, although there are real concerns about his ability to stay healthy given how many hits he took as a rookie. Dart also got to play a total of 17 snaps with his two most important offensive teammates in Thomas and Malik Nabers on the field, which might have otherwise helped juice his passing numbers. (He posted a 76.2 QBR across that extremely small sample.)

Barnwell also appraised rookie guard Francis Mauigoa as being worth "one first-round pick" alongside Dart.

>The Giants selected Dart with the No. 25 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. He got his career off to a strong start last season, establishing himself as a promising dual-threat quarterback with All-Pro potential.

>A first-round pick may be somewhat low as a return for Dart, who appears likely to be worth at least double that value if he meets offseason expectations and projections next season, approaching 4,000 passing yards while leading the Giants to a surprise run in the NFC East.

>Meanwhile, Barnwell appraised rookie linebacker Arvell Reese and left tackle Andrew Thomas as being worth "one first-round pick and more."

Arvell Reese, Andrew ThomasThomas should be a truly premium player given his level of play at a key position at age 27, but injuries have prevented him from earning a Pro Bowl nod. He has stayed healthy for only one complete season over the past five years, which would worry teams that would need to trade for Thomas and pay him like an upper-echelon left tackle on his next deal.

Finally, Barnwell appraised second-round edge rusher Abdul Carter as the Giants' most-valuable player, suggesting he is worth "two first-round picks."

Abdul CarterCarter had only four sacks as a rookie, but his QB hit and hurry numbers hint at far more significant production in Year 2. Carter might have been the best prospect in the 2025 draft after a 12-sack, 23.5-tackle for loss season at Penn State, and while he needs to do more against the run in 2026, Carter should be a far more productive pass rusher.

One other Giant just missed out...

Malik NabersThis is a product of the serious injury Nabers suffered in 2025, with the third-year wideout damaging an ACL and meniscus in a late-September win over the Chargers. It's unclear whether Nabers will be able to start the season on the active roster, which is worrisome given the typical time frame for ACL tears. The hope will be that Nabers recovers and lives up to the promise we saw before the injury, but it would be tough to justify trading a first-round pick for him before that happens.

It's safe to say the Giants will not be trading any of these players.
