The New York Giants will visit the Houston Texans at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, on Sunday afternoon in Week 7, where they will look to bounce back from a disappointing loss against the New Orleans Saints and head into their bye week on a high note.

>However, they will be short several players. Linebacker Tremaine Edmunds has been placed on season-ending injured reserve (IR), while tight end Theo Johnson and safety Jevon Holland have been downgraded to out.

>Safety Tyler Nubin is likely to play despite a questionable designation, but the status of right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor remains somewhat unclear.

Jermaine Eluemunor injury updateEluemunor left a Week 5 game against the Washington Commanders with a calf injury and was swiftly ruled out. He was listed as week-to-week, and that proved to be a fair expectation after Eluemunor was listed as inactive last Sunday against the Saints.

>Starting the week, Eluemunor was a non-participant in Wednesday's practice before practicing on a limited basis both Thursday and Friday. He was given a questionable designation, which was also the case in Week 6.

>As of Friday afternoon, there was no clear indication that Eluemunor would or would not play against the Texans.

Among the five questionable players, the two safeties are the most uncertain from what I’ve gathered.

I believe Jevon Holland will try to get final clearance from the concussion protocol in the morning before the team flies to Houston. Impossible to predict how that will go.… https://t.co/NWpCBQEkHL

— Dan Duggan (@DDuggan21) October 23, 2026Will Jermaine Eluemunor play vs. Texans?Eluemunor traveled with the team to Houston, and his status was not changed on Saturday when the Giants announced injury updates. That is a positive sign.

>"If those guys are able, and it looks like based on today's practice, that they should have a good chance to be ready to go, that will be really important," head coach John Harbaugh said of Eluemunor and Andrew Thomas on Friday.

>Thomas was not given an injury designation.

>The Giants will officially release their inactives 90 minutes before kickoff.

Who would replace Jermaine Eluemunor in the lineup? If Eluemunor isn't able to play on Sunday, things get a bit sketchy for the Giants. Last week's go-to, second-year swing tackle Marcus Mbow, is also listed as questionable with a knee issue. Like Eluemunor, he was a non-participant in Wednesday's practice before being limited on Thursday and Friday.

>Should Eluemunor be listed as inactive after pregame warmups and Mbow is cleared to play, he would draw the start. If both are out, the Giants would be forced to start rookie J.C. Davis, who has largely served as Thomas' backup this season.

>The only other option for the Giants is Josh Sills, who was recently signed off of the Indianapolis Colts' practice squad. He has primarily played guard throughout his career, but does have limited experience at both left and right tackle.

>However, the fact that the Giants did not elevate another offensive lineman ahead of Sunday's game is a good indication they plan on having Eluemunor and/or Mbow available.
