The biggest wrestling event of the year draws near with WrestleMania 42 set to take place in Las Vegas on Saturday and Sunday. As usual, WWE has loaded up WrestleMania with a mix of superstar wrestlers and the involvement of mainstream stars.
Thirteen matches have been announced for the two-day event. Night 1 will be headlined by Randy Orton challenging Cody Rhodes for the undisputed WWE championship. In a controversial twist to the match, Pat McAfee was revealed as the voice in Orton's ear and now McAfee will have to leave the wrestling business forever if Orton fails to win on Saturday.
Saturday night has six more matches set. Among those is a singles match between Seth Rollins and Gunther. Rollins made a surprise return from an injury that's kept him out of action for nearly six months. He came back as a masked man, wreaking havoc on his former faction, The Vision, before setting his sights on Paul Heyman. As he began to talk his former advisor, Gunther entered the picture and took him out. Now, the two former world champions look to settle the score in the ring.
Plus, more bad blood spills over when Jacob Fatu and Drew McIntyre square off in an unsanctioned match. Fatu and McIntyre have feuded for months now, with each man costing the other at various points. The two have brawled all over the place, including on scaffolding on the side of a building where they both leapt off. Now, it's anything goes when they meet on Saturday.
There are also three more title matches on Saturday night, all in the women's division. Women's world champion Stephanie Vaquer looks to defend her title against Liv Morgan, who earned her spot by winning the Royal Rumble. Women's intercontinental champion AJ Lee looks to end her rivalry with Becky Lynch when the two face off. And a fatal four way for the women's tag team titles is set when champions Nia Jax and Lash Legend take on Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria and The Bella Twins.
Then on Sunday, the action culminates with a world heavyweight title match between champion CM Punk and challenger Roman Reigns. The two have been at each other's throats since Reigns won the Royal Rumble and declared his intentions to hunt down the world heavyweight title. Now, the bitter hatred reaches its boiling point. Plus, a titanic clash opens the night when Oba Femi takes on legend Brock Lesnar. Femi has run roughshod over both Raw and SmackDown since making his main roster debut. He then answered Lesnar's open challenge for anyone to face him at WrestleMania, which has led to some of the wildest encounters ahead of the event.
