49ers RB Christian McCaffrey joins Randy Moss in NFL history

The San Francisco 49ers have put together another excellent outing, as they continue dominating the Miami Dolphins during their Week 2 matchup.

>San Francisco has controlled the game since the opening quarter and has now put up 21 points in the third quarter en route to taking a 35-6 lead.

>The 49ers have leaned heavily on their stars Sunday, finding great success. Quarterback Brock Purdy completed 16 of his first 17 passes with two touchdowns, one to tight end George Kittle and another to fullback Kyle Juszczyk.

>McCaffrey found the end zone twice against Miami on Sunday and became the third player in league history to score 50 or more touchdowns for multiple franchises. Now in his fourth season with the 49ers, McCaffrey recorded his first 50 career touchdowns during his six seasons with the Carolina Panthers (McCaffrey was traded to San Francisco in the middle of his sixth season with the Panthers)

>“McCaffrey is the third player in NFL history to score 50+ TD for multiple franchises joining Hall-of-Famers Marshall Faulk (Colts, Rams) and Randy Moss (Vikings, Patriots),” ESPN’s Nick Wagoner shared on X.

>Both of McCaffrey’s touchdowns Sunday against Miami came from the one-yard line.

A Legend in the MakingSince entering the league in 2017, he has developed into one of the NFL’s most dangerous all-purpose weapons. McCaffrey has earned four Pro Bowl selections across his career and has been named a first-team All-Pro three times.

>While McCaffrey has dealt with various injuries throughout his nine-year career, he started all 17 games for the 49ers last season. He amassed 1,202 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns while also catching 102 passes for 924 yards and seven touchdowns.

>McCaffrey also earned Offensive Player of the Year honors in his first full season in San Francisco in 2023. Now at 30 years of age, the 49ers will hope that McCaffrey can maintain his excellent pace during the rest of the 2026 campaign.
