Barcelona optimistic on Eric Garcia fitness after defender withdraws from Spain squad with knee injury

class="wp-block-paragraph">Garcia missed Saturday’s Nations League win over England after feeling discomfort in the warm-up and has since pulled out of the remaining games over the international break.

class="wp-block-paragraph">According to Mundo Deportivo, Garcia has since returned to Barcelona for more medical checks which confirmed he is OK and should be fit for Barcelona’s next game against Getafe.

class="wp-block-paragraph">The decision to release Garcia from the Spain squad was a precautionary move and he now has time to rest and recover before Barcelona’s season continues on October 10th.

class="wp-block-paragraph">The news will be welcomed at Barcelona ahead of some key fixtures in October and particularly with Andreas Christensen currently sidelined through injury.

class="wp-block-paragraph">Barcelona are due to face Getafe, Real Betis and Real Madrid in La Liga next month and also take on Galatasaray and PSG in the Champions League.
