It's been over 1,000 days since Errol Spence Jr. last stepped into a boxing ring for a fight.

>Now the former welterweight champion looks to turn back the clock, ending a nearly three-year layoff as he faces Tim Tszyu in a headlining bout from Sydney, Australia.

>Spence's last fight came against Terence Crawford for the undisputed welterweight titles in July 2023. Entering the bout unbeaten and widely regarded among the sport's top fighters, Spence suffered a one-sided knockout defeat which ultimately prompted his extended hiatus.

>“There are definitely a lot of questions about how I’m going to come back. I’m ready and I’ve been training hard," Spence said at the final press conference. "There’s no pressure on me, because I’m not trying to prove something to anybody. I’m looking to prove to myself that I still have it."

>For his comeback he turned to Tszyu, a former world champion looking to return to the title picture after losing three of his last six fights.
