Georgia football's Drew Bobo gets a hilarious new job title with NIL deal

Georgia football offensive lineman Drew Bobo has a new job title, at least for the weekend.

>Bobo announced on social media that he is the new "VP, Pancake Communications" for Cracker Barrel, just in time for National Pancake Day.

>His first order of business?

>Making pancake blocks an official football statistic.

>Bobo's post featured photos of football players making pancake blocks on the field, playing off the football term for a block that sends a defender to the ground.

>"First order of business: make pancake blocks an official stat," Bobo wrote, directing followers to a petition at pancakepetition.com.

What exactly is a pancake block?Cracker Barrel is using its National Pancake Day promotion to launch a petition aimed at making pancake blocks an official statistic in football.

>According to the restaurant, a pancake block happens when a blocker drives an opponent off his feet and puts the defender flat on the ground.

>The restaurant's proposed official definition is: "imposing your will on an opponent by driving him off his feet and putting him flat on the ground."

>Cracker Barrel's proposed rules say the block must be legal, happen during a live play in a game and cause the defender's fall. The restaurant also says any player can earn a pancake block.

>The restaurant says pancake blocks aren't currently included as an official statistic in football box scores, which is the point behind its petition.

>That's where Bobo comes in.

>"First order of business: make pancake blocks an official stat," Bobo wrote in his post, encouraging people to sign the petition.

Bobo has some experience with pancake blocksBobo, who is from Athens, is a Georgia offensive lineman and wears No. 74 for the Bulldogs.

>The 6-foot-5, 305-pound senior is listed as an active offensive lineman on Georgia's roster.

>So while his new Cracker Barrel title is clearly part of the restaurant's pancake campaign, Bobo is also a pretty fitting spokesperson for a movement centered around offensive-line blocks.

>He's the son of UGA offensive coordinator Mike Bobo.

Cracker Barrel is offering $5 pancakesThe pancake campaign comes ahead of National Pancake Day on Saturday, Sept. 26.

>Cracker Barrel is offering $5 all-you-can-eat pancakes for dine-in customers that day. The initial order includes three buttermilk pancakes, followed by refills of two pancakes at a time, according to the restaurant's terms.

>The offer is for individual customer consumption and cannot be shared. Beverages, toppings, fillings, add-ons, eggs, meats, sides, taxes and gratuities are not included. Refills may also be limited when necessary to prevent waste, abuse or excessive consumption.

>So while Bobo is campaigning to put pancake blocks in the stat book, Cracker Barrel is giving fans a chance to put a whole lot of actual pancakes on their plates.

>For one Georgia offensive lineman, apparently both count as important Saturday stats.
