NEW DELHI: A hilarious moment stole the spotlight before the first semifinal of the Women's T20 Blast 2026 between Surrey Women and The Blaze Women at The Oval in London on Friday.

Just minutes before the match got underway, the tournament's now-famous cameraman accidentally tripped over the T20 Blast trophy while filming the players' entrance, leaving fans amused.

The cameraman was walking backwards while recording the players as they made their way onto the field. At one end, The Blaze Women were in a team huddle, while Surrey Women openers Bryony Smith and Danni Wyatt-Hodge were walking out to begin the innings.

Focused on capturing the perfect shot, the cameraman failed to notice that the T20 Blast trophy had been placed directly behind him. He accidentally bumped into it and tumbled over, creating a funny moment that was quickly shared across social media.

Fortunately, neither the cameraman nor the trophy appeared to suffer any damage, and play began without any delay.

After the light-hearted pre-match incident, The Blaze produced a clinical performance to book their place in the Women's T20 Blast 2026 final with a six-wicket win.

Asked to bat first, Surrey Women were bowled out for 105 in 15.2 overs. Captain Bryony Smith top-scored with 29, while Alice Davidson-Richards made 20.

Charli Knott starred with the ball, claiming 4 for 15, while Grace Ballinger picked up three wickets and Josie Groves took two.

In reply, The Blaze chased down the target comfortably in 16.3 overs. Kathryn Bryce led the way with 34, Tammy Beaumont contributed 29, and Charli Knott added 21 as The Blaze sealed victory with six wickets in hand to reach the final.
