Houston Rockets jersey history No. 24 - Moses Malone (1976-82)

The Houston Rockets have had players donning a total of 52 different jersey numbers (and have one not part of any numerical series for Houston assistant coach and general manager Carroll Dawson) since their founding at the start of the 1967-68 season, worn by just under 500 players in the course of Rockets history.

>And for today's article, we will continue with the fourth of four who wore the No. 24, Hall of Fame big man Moses Malone. After ending his high school career, Malone signed with the ABA's (defunct) Utah Stars in 1972.

>The Petersburg, Virginia native also played for the (defunct) Spirits of St. Louis and the NBA's (then) Buffalo Braves (now, Boston Celtics - it's a long story) before he was dealt to the Houston Rockets in 1976. His stay with the team lasted until he was dealt to the Philadelphia 76ers in 1982.

>During his time suiting up for the Rockets, Malone wore only jersey No. 24 and put up 24.0 points, 15.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game.
