style="text-align: justify;">Very few forwards has lit up Anfield like Sadio Mane did during his time at the club. However, once the electric forward left for Bayern Munich back in 2022, it left a huge void in Liverpool’s attack.

>

style="text-align: justify;">The Reds had smartly already acquired their replacement for the Senegalese forward by signing Luis Diaz for £38m in the January that year.

>

style="text-align: justify;">Diaz was definitely a hit on Merseyside, with 41 goals and 23 assists in 148 appearances. However, he just couldn’t quite find that clinical edge that Mane displayed.

style="text-align: justify;">The void only grew further when Diaz also made the switch to Bayern Munich last summer. Liverpool decided not to sign a new left-winger and instead prioritised more minutes for 17-year-old wonderkid Rio Ngumoha.

>

style="text-align: justify;">It made sense. However, first-choice left-winger Cody Gakpo massively struggled this season with just nine goals and six assists in 51 appearances across all competitions.

>

style="text-align: justify;">But now, Liverpool could be ready to fill that gap…

Who Could Liverpool Sign?

style="text-align: justify;">A number of names have been linked with a move to Anfield. RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande seems to be a frontrunner to make the switch to Merseyside, but could be more of a replacement for the departing Mohamed Salah.

>

style="text-align: justify;">But the name that really catches the eye for that left-wing spot is PSG’s Bradley Barcola.

>

style="text-align: justify;">The Frenchman is one of the most talented forwards in Europe, but is reportedly growing frustrated with his lack of opportunity for the back-to-back Champions League winners.

>

style="text-align: justify;">Behind the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Kvhicha Kvaratskhalie and Desire Doue in the pecking order, Barcola has played 1,000 less minutes this season in comparison to last season.

>

style="text-align: justify;">He has still managed 13 goals and six assists this season, which is a great return for a backup option. However, his true clinical edge was highlighted in the 2024/25 season.

>

style="text-align: justify;">The 23-year-old scored 21 goals and assisted a further 19 that season.

>

style="text-align: justify;">His rapid pace, direct nature and impressive end product would provide Liverpool with a left-sided outlet that we haven’t really seen since the exit of Sadio Mane.

>

style="text-align: justify;">Any move wouldn’t come cheap though, with the French side likely to demand in the region of €100m for Barcola. But he would provide a forward with clear world-class potential, if he hasn’t already reached that level already.
