Mississippi State football lands 4 commits, including QB Nash Morgan, for 2027 class

STARKVILLE — Mississippi State football landed four commitments to its 2027 recruiting class on June 14, including a legacy quarterback and a four-star running back.

>Three of them are from Mississippi: four-star Winona running back Yoshawn Hudson, three-star Louisville linebacker Ayden Coleman and three-star Warren Central quarterback Nash Morgan.

>Ke'Vontae Pitts, an unranked cornerback from Nashville, Tennessee, was MSU's fourth commitment of the day.

>Hudson became Mississippi State's top recruit in the 14-player class, overtaking Rosa Fort four-star running back Christian Alexander with a 0.9129 composite grade by 247Sports. They are the only two four-stars in the class.

>Hudson is ranked No. 261 nationally by the 247Sports Composite, the No. 14 athlete and No. 10 in Mississippi. He chose Mississippi State over offers from Houston, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Southern Miss and more.

>Morgan is the son of former MSU defensive back Josh Morgan, who is tied for the program record in career fumble recoveries. His uncles, Rob Morgan and Brett Morgan, also played for Mississippi State.

>Morgan is the No. 108 quarterback nationally and No. 33 player in Mississippi. He led Warren Central to the MHSAA Class 6A championship in 2025 at Davis Wade Stadium with his dad as the coach. Morgan won the game's MVP, scoring four touchdowns, including three rushing with 184 rushing yards. He also got an interception playing defense.

>Morgan also has offers from UNLV, Air Force, Navy and Army.

>Coleman also holds offers from Ole Miss, Alabama, South Alabama, Jacksonville State and Western Kentucky. He's ranked the No. 103 linebacker nationally and No. 30 in the state.

>Hudson had 1,544 rushing yards in 2025 with 22 rushing touchdowns. Morgan threw for 1,452 yards with 12 touchdowns and four interceptions while rushing for 1,577 yards and 27 touchdowns. Coleman recorded 84 tackles with 21 tackles for loss, eight sacks and one interception.
