After dropping two of three in each of two series since the All-Star Break, the Phillies hope to begin the process of altering that trend when the Yankees visit this weekend.

>Game 1 of the three-game series is July 24 at 6:45 p.m. at Citizens Bank Park.

>The game is being streamed exclusively on AppleTV+.

>Left-hander Jesus Luzardo (9-4, 3.43 ERA) is the starting pitcher for the Phillies. Right-hander Cam Schilitter (9-6, 2.20 ERA) starts for New York.

>The Phillies (56-47), who won just one of three games each against the Mets and Dodgers in the past week, began the series in second place in the National League East, 4½ games behind Atlanta.

>The Yankees (57-45) are similarly positioned in the American League East, trailing Tampa Bay by just two games.

Rafael Marchan put on ILBefore the game, the Phillies announced backup catcher Rafael Marchan had been placed on the 10-day injured list with patellar tendinitis in his left knee.

>Payton Henry joined the Phillies after having his contract selected from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Pitcher Brad Keller was transferred to the 60-day injured list so that Henry could join the 40-man roster.

>Henry was batting .201 for the IronPigs. He played in 20 games for the Marlins in 2021-22, with his last MLB appearance on May 21, 2022. He was a sixth-round draft choice by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2016.
