>Many assume the Boston Red Sox will look to trade outfielder Jarren Duran if they decide to sell before the Aug. 3 MLB trade deadline. But a new report suggests otherwise.
>Duran has struggled offensively this season, posting a .200 batting average with 12 homers, 11 stolen bases and a .624 OPS in 73 games. As a result, Boston might keep Duran and instead try to trade him next offseason, according to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.
>“The more likely scenario is for the Red Sox to hold Duran for the rest of this year, hope he has a strong second half to regain some value, then look to move him in the offseason," Feinsand wrote in a piece published Wednesday.
>The report isn't surprising. If Boston only would receive pennies on the dollar for Duran in a midseason trade, why not wait a few months to see if he increases his value?
>Nevertheless, Duran will be among the more interesting names to watch as the trade deadline approaches.
