>Mohamed Salah is set to join Turkish side Trabzonspor on a free transfer after mutually agreeing to terminate his Liverpool contract a year early.

>Salah ended a nine-year spell at Anfield by cutting short the terms he had agreed in April 2025 after a difficult season for the 34-year-old, which saw him dropped and publicly fall out with then Liverpool head coach Arne Slot.

>He has long been a target for clubs in Saudi Arabia, and that appeared to be Salah's most likely destination when he delivered a bombshell interview after being dropped at Leeds last season.

>It was less than three years ago that Liverpool rejected a £150m offer from Saudi club Al Ittihad for Salah. However, he is now set for a spell in the Turkish Superlig. Trabzonspor will enter the Europa League playoffs after finishing third last season.
