The FSU Seminoles have suffered another decommitment in their 2027 recruiting class. Three-star athlete Dayon Cooper announced he was decommitting Sunday on social media. The news comes shortly after he officially visited the Tennessee Volunteers.

>He was not committed to FSU for long, pledging to them on April 4. He is from South Pittsburgh, Tennessee, and FSU was recruiting him as a defensive back. He plays wide receiver, running back, and defensive back at the high school level and has recently expressed interest in starting his collegiate career on offense.

>FSU was not nearly as receptive to that idea, while the in-state Volunteers seem to like the idea and are surging in his recruitment. He also officially visited the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

>Cooper is ranked as the No. 516 overall player and No. 32 athlete in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 22 player from Tennessee.

>It is easy to see why Cooper wants to play on offense at the next level. He was named the Tennessee Division 1 A Mr. Football after catching 29 passes for 421 yards and 10 touchdowns, while also rushing for 421 yards and 5 more touchdowns.

>He is the sixth decommitment that FSU has suffered in the 2027 recruiting cycle. They now have nine players committed, and three-star safety Jemari Foreman is the only defensive back.

>

After much thought and prayers with my family I have decided to decommit from @FSUFootball Thank you to the staff & coaches for recruiting me & making me feel welcomed the past 4 months during my 3 visits to campus. #ThePitt@SPHSPIRATES@SPCoachStone@StephenHargispic.twitter.com/555ofjk1LU
