There is a lot of debate heading into the 2026 NFL season about who the best wide receiver in the NFL is. The hot debate is between Seattle's Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Los Angeles' Puka Nacua, or Cincinnati's Ja'Mar Chase. How soon people forget about the monster in Minnesota named Justin Jefferson. Jefferson is far and away the best receiver in football, and according to Bleacher Report, one of the better building blocks for any franchise.
>Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report went through and ranked the NFL's franchise players to build around, and Jefferson came in at number 13, ahead of Broncos quarterback Bo Nix and Bengals wide receiver Chase. Gagnon listed Jefferson as the third-highest wide receiver, behind Chase and Smith-Njigba (no. 11)
We begin a run of megastar wide receivers with a four-time first- or second-team All-Pro who, when supported and healthy, is usually considered the best player in the sport at his position.
>Unfortunately, that hasn't always been the case the last few seasons, but Jefferson has still managed to put up more than 3,600 yards since completing an epic 128-catch, 1,809-yard campaign in 2022. The 27-year-old is still clinging to megastar status.
"Clinging to megastar status" seems like a backhanded compliment, insinuating that Jefferson is on the decline. Most wide receivers would struggle with the abysmal quarterback play Minnesota had last season, and Jefferson still posted 1,000 yards. We should see him find his form again in 2026 with a clear upgrade at quarterback.
